About Me
Experience Matters…
Navigating life’s challenges can be stressful. Finding a trustworthy professional with the necessary certifications and rich life experience is essential. If you’re in search of someone you can connect with who understands your needs, look no further. You’ve come to the right place.
Many clients reach out to me when they encounter a roadblock. My expertise shines in areas like teaching tools to navigate relationship challenges such as the nuances of friendship, dating, guiding individuals through the complexities of loss and trauma, preparing for marriage, welcoming a new addition to the family, starting college, launching a fresh career, or embracing a new single life. Other specialties include assisting with medical and developmental diagnoses or navigating the school system when an IEP is needed.
I have learned and continue to learn from some of the best universities and institutes in the world, including the Gottman Institute, University of California, Los Angeles Semel Institute for Neuroscience & Human Behavior, the University of North Carolina TEEACH Autism Program, and TUFTS Medical Center. I earned my Bachelor of Arts in Psychology at Albion College and my Master of Social Work at the University of Denver.
With a background that spans the corporate world, the non-profit sector, and the entrepreneurial ecosystem, my eclectic professional experience is multifaceted. My role as a stay-at-home mom and a working mom outside the home, adds depth to my understanding. Several years of active involvement while parenting includes volunteering on the Wake County Superintendent Advisory Council, the PTA, and holding a certification as a yoga instructor.
On the personal side, I was born and raised in Detroit, as the 11th of 12 children. Through the nearly 30 years of marriage, my husband and I have raised three incredible (now adult) children. We’ve worked as a team through his traveling global career, a relocation, our children’s development, medical, academic pursuits, achievements and the many other surprises life tosses in along the way. For fun, I enjoy spending time with my family, friends and two dogs (Walter and Goose). I enjoy walking, hiking, paddleboarding, and painting with watercolors. My passion is helping individuals and families overcome challenges and develop a vision so they can have a rewarding life and continue on a path of healthy growth. Contact me today and let me help you reach your full potential.
